Son of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and His Royal Highness Prince Consort Henrik of Denmark. Christened in Holmen’s Church (the Naval Church of Denmark) on 24 June 1968. Confirmed in Fredensborg Castle Chapel on 28 May 1981. On 14 May 2004, the Crown Prince married Mary Elizabeth Donaldson, who in connection with the marriage became HRH Crown Princess of Denmark. The wedding ceremony took place in Copenhagen Cathedral, and the wedding festivities were held at Fredensborg Palace.
